Every two years, the National Heavy Vehicle Industry Association runs it major exhibition, The Brisbane Truck Show. This year the truck show coincides with West-Trans Equipment celebrating 25 years under the guidance of owner and Managing Director Jim Whittle.
Much of the exhibition will be a showcase of technology and innovation emerging in the various sectors of the transport industry. West-Trans Equipment will be looking back, and looking forward, with its familiar and segment leading brands, “West-Trans”, and “HMF”.
They will be looking back at 25 years of building Australia’s most popular, and reliable skip loaders and hook lifts. The theme for the show for the West-Trans brand is “Built Tough in Australia”. Being Australian designed and built, the West-Trans product is uniquely designed around Australia waste and recycling industry needs and wants, toughness, durability, serviceability and functional simplicity, with clever engineering combining high lifting capacity and low folded and retracted arm heights. But what makes these products special is often hidden under the skin. So at this show they will be giving you a unique look under the surface. Paint hides a myriad of sins as they say. So for this show, visitors will be able to see the very popular DS 80, in bare metal, with two thirds of the floor removed. All of the welds are visible, all of the plumbing and valves are there to be seen. When you look under the surface, you’ll appreciate what makes them special.
West-Trans will also be displaying an HL20 hook lift jib in bare metal, and the industry heavy weight MXS 150s skip loader arm in bare metal. These major parts are all fabricated in house at West-Trans at their Mulgrave NSW manufacturing site, and demonstrate what makes the West-Trans brand the most trusted in the industry.
They will also be looking to the future with the industry leading technology of the new HMF “RCS” range of cranes displaying two of the latest arrivals. These new arrivals have the familiar HMF colour scheme and corrosion resistant coating, along with the familiar power link geometry, and unique EVS (electronic vehicle stability) system optimising lifting performance dynamically to the vehicles stability in any configuration or payload. But just like the West-Trans brand, what makes these new RCS cranes special is hidden under the skin. The new cranes have even higher gauge steel throughout their construction, giving them increased strength and lifting capacity, while also reducing their already class leading tare weight. Every HMF crane provides extra payload and/or reduced axle loads by virtue of their compact design and low tare weight.
Combining the technology of HMF with the engineering talents of West-Trans Equipment, means that every crane and sub-frame combination is engineered and designed as a package with your cab chassis and specific needs in mind. Bringing together the quality, technology and precision of HMF, with the latest West-Trans Equipment designed and constructed “torquebox”TM sub-frames, is delivering customers stronger, lighter and more stable rigs, optimising crane performance and vehicle safety.
